Levels 15–35

A cathedral-like jungle of colossal ironwood trees and glowing turquoise marshes where every plant and river-stone hums with wild, untamed life.

Stretching across the warm southern curve of Kaelvorn, the Root-Basin is a lush, vertical wilderness where the canopy of ancient trees grows so thick that the ground below exists in a perpetual, vibrant twilight lit by bioluminescent flora and drifting spore-lights. Here, the Verdant Chorus lives in symbiosis with the land, weaving rope-bridge townships high in the branches while moss-backed river-turtles ferry traders along the winding waterways below. Root-Cradle is the living heir of ancient Syl-Vara, whose Gilded Accord canopy-halls now form the drowned lower wards beneath the roots.

At the center of the marsh, Spire Verdan has become choked by parasitic crystal vines that crept in two Turns ago, driving the native megafauna into a territorial frenzy.

    Landmarks of the Southern Canopy

    • Landmark 1 — Root-Cradle: The vast, vertical capital of the Verdant Chorus, woven into the petrified and living trunks of three mile-wide banyan-ironwood trees rising above the drowned lower wards of old Syl-Vara.
    • Landmark 2 — Spire Verdan: The regional Chime-Spire at the heart of the Fen, currently strangled by singing porcelain vines that distort its protective chord across the basin.
    • Landmark 3 — The Drowned Conservatory: An overgrown Architect botanical dome of cracked green glass half-submerged in the turquoise marsh waters.
    • Landmark 4 — The Singing Cataracts: A tiered curtain of waterfalls whose rising mist refracts Amber-glass lantern light and rings like temple chimes in the humid air.

      Root-Cradle

Root-Cradle, a vast, vertical city woven into the petrified and living trunks of three mile-wide banyan-ironwood trees rising out of the southern floodplains, illuminated by hanging gardens of bioluminescent lanterns.

      Perils beneath the Banyan Roots

Camouflaged Bog-Stalker Crocs, venomous Chime-Wasps whose wings produce disorienting sonic bursts, rogue Thorn-Shapers who want to purge all outsiders from the woods, and corrupted floral colossi around Spire Verdan.

      • Field Dangers: Camouflaged Bog-Stalker Crocs, venomous Chime-Wasps whose wings produce disorienting sonic bursts, rogue Thorn-Shapers seeking to purge all outsiders from the woods, and corrupted floral colossi around Spire Verdan.
      • Region Dungeon — The Drowned Conservatory (Level 32): Fight through predatory crystal orchids and singing vine-horrors inside a flooded Architect dome to sever Vespera the Glass-Bloom from the root network.
      • World Boss — Old Brass-Back: A mountain-sized snapping turtle carrying a half-sunken Architect temple on its shell whose sub-bass roar triggers tidal waves across the marsh.
      • Region Exemplars: Home to Lyra Vance, Keeper of the Singing Cataracts, and Torga Moss-Back, The Root-Speaker.

        The Drowned Conservatory

Once an acoustic botanical garden built by the Architects to cultivate plants that could thrive in pure Sun-Pitch, the Conservatory is now a vast dome of cracked green glass half-submerged in the turquoise waters of the Fen. Inside, a shard of the Pale Wake has fallen through the roof, fusing with the ancient overgrown flora to create a terrifying ecosystem of predatory crystal orchids and singing vine-horrors.

        Old Brass-Back

A mountain-sized snapping turtle carrying a half-sunken Architect temple on its shell whose roar triggers tidal waves across the marsh.

Tall, lithe, and dancer-like (around six feet two inches), with an asymmetrical, flowing silhouette created by long leaf-shaped cloak ribbons, sweeping Auralin ears, and a seven-foot curved ironwood staff from which a large glowing glass lantern swings on a bronze chain.

Warm olive-tan skin dusted with faint, natural bioluminescent turquoise freckles across her cheekbones; expressive, tilted golden-amber eyes; eight-inch tapering sylvan ears adorned with tiny copper bell-studs; thick, wavy auburn-red hair worn in a loose side-braid woven with glowing white marsh-orchids.

Layered robes of verdigris-green marsh-silk, supple bark-brown leather corsetry embossed with leaf veins, and shoulder-guards formed from polished turquoise river-turtle shell inlaid with spun gold.

Verdigris Green, Bioluminescent Turquoise, Warm Amber Yellow, and Bark Brown.

Whisper-Cradle, a curved staff of living dark ironwood whose crook sprouts real glowing blue moss; suspended from its tip on three brass chains is a faceted globe of golden Amber-glass housing a floating, swirling lotus of turquoise fire.

Caught mid-step as if dancing across water, one hand raised to pluck a glowing golden string of light in the air while the other swings her lantern-staff in a wide, graceful figure-eight arc around her hips.

Ribbons of warm golden light braided with sparkling turquoise spore-dust that arch from her lantern to her allies' chests, while translucent glowing water-lilies bloom and ripple beneath her feet with every spell cast.

        Lyra Vance — The Lantern-Weaver

A graceful Auralin mystic who swings a censer of living swamp-light and golden Amber-glass, weaving warm ribbons of melody between her allies to mend wounds and bloom protective flora.

Healer (Mobile Restorative Support & Bioluminescent Buffs)

A wide, monumental, matriarchal Korvath woman of venerable age with moss-covered emerald-grey stone skin, kind golden eyes, and a crown of real branching ironwood antlers hung with glowing turquoise glass lanterns; she wears layered armor of living tree-bark and river-turtle shell, resting both massive hands atop a gnarled root-totem planted in the swamp as a twenty-foot wall of braided wood and glowing blue thorns erupts from the water around her.

        Torga Moss-Back — The Root-Speaker

An ancient, gentle-hearted Korvath hermit who has lived so long in the deep Whispering Fen that living ironwood roots and glowing marsh-mushrooms grow directly from her stone shoulders, rising at her command to wall off entire battlefields.
