Callings & adventures

Do I play as a pre-made hero, or do I create my own character?

You create your own custom Oath-Bearer—choosing your mortal kindred (Human, stone-skinned Korvath, sylvan Auralin, or forge-born Brannik), appearance, armor dyes, and weapon skins—and choose one of the thirteen Callings. The thirteen named heroes on the site (such as Valen Korr and Lyra Vance) are the voiced in-world exemplars and mentors for those Callings.

Why are 4 Callings shown in full and 9 marked "Revealed Soon"?

To give every Calling’s lore and 12-ability skill tree the spotlight it deserves, we launched the site with one complete exemplar for each party role: Tank (Valen Korr), Healer (Lyra Vance), Melee DPS (Kaelen Vos), and Ranged DPS (Tessa Vane-Kettler). The remaining nine Callings are displayed in their reveal order with splash art, roles, and story hooks, with full reveals reserved for future editorial updates.

Can I play in guilds, dungeons, and raids with friends in other factions?

Yes. Guilds, parties, dungeons, raids, and Bell-Keep island strongholds are 100% cross-faction. Pledging to the Solaris Bastion, the Iron-Chime Syndicate, or the Verdant Chorus determines your personal story campaign chapters, the banner colours of your quarter in Last Accord, and your faction mount vendor—it never stops you from playing with friends.

Is there open-world PvP between the three factions?

No. All three factions are bound by the Call of the Unbroken against the Choir of the Pale Wake, so there is no open-world faction ganking. Planned post-launch competitive rivalry takes place in the seasonal PvE Race to the Spire and on the structured dueling floor of the Mirage-Bazaar in Kal-Zir.

Can I play the story and dungeons solo?

Yes. The voiced Oath-Bearer’s Campaign is built for solo play from level 1 to 60, and all five launch dungeons feature a "Story Toll" mode for 1 to 3 players where NPC mercenaries from the neutral Wayfarer Lantern fill out the remaining party roles.

How does endgame progression work at level 60?

At level 60, character levels stop. Endgame progression in the Shattered Crown is measured by Resonance Rank, which you advance through five dungeon Over-Tune difficulty ranks, weekly retuning missions at Spire Aethel, Spire Verdan, or Spire Caul, and two 10/20-player raids across Story, Heroic, and Mythic difficulties.

How many crafting and gathering professions can one character learn?

Every character can master two primary Crafting Professions (out of seven: Sun-Smithing, Amber-Shaping, Chime-Wrighting, Sylvan-Weaving, Tone-Scribing, Pitch-Alchemy, and Hearth-Keeping) plus all three Gathering Skills (Pitch-Mining, Glass-Cutting, and Chord-Harvest).

What is the difference between Guild Bell-Keeps and Wayfarer Lofts?

A Bell-Keep is a shared, instanced island stronghold suspended over the Mirror-Reach that a whole guild upgrades with workshops, raid trophies, and a Great-Bell buff tower. A Wayfarer Loft is your personal instanced room above a neutral tavern, featuring a weapon rack, an instrument hook, and a Tuning-Lantern peg.

Do Hearth Pets fight in combat?

No. Hearth Pets (such as the Chime-Finch, Cinder-Pug, and Spore-Hopper) are strictly non-combat companions that react to weather, perch on your shoulder when idle, and harmonize with tavern instruments. Combat companions like Soren’s iron kestrel Kipp or Tessa’s Chime-Thumper turrets are dedicated Calling abilities.
